What a lovely way to start the week!! The skies were clear and the sun was bringing the heat to the capital region!

We spotted multiple humpbacks feeding in the morning, as well as several pods of Bigg's Killer Whales (mammal eaters) throughout the day. We were very lucky to encounter these mammal-eating orcas as they successfully hunted porpoises. 

Our captains also made a stop at Race Rocks Ecological Reserve, which is especially beautiful on a sunny day like today!  A couple of our vessels really lucked out when they stumbled on a grey whale, a rare sight here during this time of year. 

Captain Jim and Captain Kaegan came across some very curious Bigg's Killer Whales again in the afternoon, as well as some more humpback whales, sea lions, otters, and seals. 

After such an awesome day on the water, we're so excited to see what tomorrow brings!!

The day began with the sun shining but the wind picked up and the clouds moved in by the early afternoon.

In the morning our fleet caught up with the Southern Residents (salmon eaters) as they headed west through the Juan de Fuca Strait. They have now headed back out the the open ocean, we hope that they find enough food offshore and that we see them again soon!

BC TIKA went for an afternoon tour because she handles the best on rough waters. Captain Russ headed north east of Victoria to catch up with some Bigg's orca (mammal eaters)! They were identified as the T65A's, our guests were excited to see the brand new calf in the pod!!

What a perfect day for whale watching!!! The sun was shining and the water was flat calm as BC TIKA & ORCA headed off the dock. We had our first sunset trip yesterday, and whales all day long!!!

Reports of Biggs Orca (mammal eaters) came in early, so our fleet caught up with them as they headed west towards Victoria. They were identified as the T124A's, consisting of a matriarch and her five calves!! Our passengers got to encounter them all day long as they actively scanned and successfully foraged through the Salish Sea!

Happy Monday! It was a good start to the week with some sun and light wind, so BC ORCA and TIKA went out to see who was in the Salish Sea for the day!!

In the morning we caught up with several humpback whales foraging/resting south of Georgia Strait. In the afternoon Biggs Orca came into range so BC TIKA went for it! We also frequently encounter all types of other wildlife including seals, sea lions, bald eagles and a range of sea birds!!

Another windy day in the capital region, good thing our vessels were designed to handle choppy waters! Reports of Biggs Orca came in early in the morning and our captains couldn't wait to get off the dock for the day!

Captain Gordon took BC ORCA out for a morning tour and caught up with a pod of Biggs Orca as they were travelling through. We hoped they would be in range for the day as they traveled further north!!

With a high westerly wind in the afternoon, BC TIKA was perfect for maneuvering through the waves! Unfortunately the whales moved too quickly and we were not able to catch them. However, our passengers still had a good time despite not seeing whales. Good thing we have the best no whale guarantee in the inner harbor and when they returned to the dock we offered our guests 20% refund and a stand by tour on us!!

Happy Victoria Day!! The day started with a lot of cloud cover but by early afternoon the sun was out and the skies were clear. Lucky for us, Bigg's Orca were in range all day!

Captain Jim headed out on BC TIKA for a morning tour, excited to see who was in the area for the day. It wasn't long before a pod of Bigg's Orca (mammal eaters) were sighted northeast of Victoria!! They were heading towards us so we knew our second tour would be able to catch up with them as well. In the afternoon our guests got treated to a multiple whale species tour, and saw a feeding Humpback on their way back to the harbor!!

Another week gone, and June is approaching rapidly!!! Peak season is just around the corner, and the large migratory whales are here!

We encountered Humpback whales throughout the day in Haro Strait!! Our afternoon guests got to see them breaching, which is rare in our waters!! They must be eating well if they are happy enough to play!

Happy Hump Day!! In keeping with the theme we encountered Humpback whales all day. With clear skies and calm winds our captains couldn't wait to leave the docks!!!

The humpback whales are beginning to arrive for the summer to feed on the small zooplankton. They migrate here from Hawaii and Mexico where they breed and calf in the tropical waters.

A stop by Race Rocks Ecological park is always a hit! A popular haul out site for local pinnipeds, including, California and Steller Sea Lions and Harbor Seals. They can be heard barking at each other while competing for space on the rocks.
