Jim is an internationally acclaimed Marine Biologist in orca behaviour and conservation. He has been driving zodiacs for 18 years and loves the diverse wildlife in the waters around Vancouver Island. Jim has a great personality to go along with his extensive knowledge of marine life. When Jim isn't driving around the local waters of Vancouver Island, chances are he's exploring one of the most extreme places on Earth -- Antarctica. As an experienced captain, he also has the uncanny ability to locate whales. Jim makes every whale watching tour the excursion of a lifetime.

Gord grew up in Victoria and has been exploring the coastline of Vancouver Island since the early 1980s. He first explored the coast through sailing and was a sea cadet sailing instructor for many years. He then moved into the world of commercial diving and worked in the local waters of the West Coast, where he had countless first hand encounters with just about every kind of marine life Vancouver Island has to offer. Gordon moved to Vancouver and worked at many Electronic Dance Music (E.D.M) events as a nationally-known VJ and favourite local DJ. When Gordon and his family returned to Victoria, he was drawn back to the ocean and marine exploration, one of his greatest passions. He is now one of BC Whale Tours' Captains, where he constantly shares his passion and experience with everyone he encounters.

Mark joined the BCWT crew in 2019. He is an avid conservationist and enjoys sharing his passion for the ocean with our guests. Mark is an accomplished traveller and has had adventures all around the globe! He began diving and climbing in Africa, which sparked a seven-year adventure of travelling around the world without flying! His travels have taken him across Russia, Mongolia, China, the Middle East, South America; and many more. Eventually, he wound up in the Caribbean working as a captain on luxury catamarans before making his way to the West Coast where he has been a captain in the Victoria whale watching industry for 5 years. In his free time, Mark volunteers as a medic on a ski patrol, teaches sailing, is a rescue diver, kite-surfer, organic gardener, and organizes large-scale beach clean ups to do his part against the growing problem of marine plastics.

Kaegan grew up in Victoria and developed a love for whales and the marine environment from an early age. He spent many summers on BC's Sunshine coast where his interest in marine biology grew with every pool he investigated and every photo he took. His passion moved him to pursue a degree in marine biology. After working in the whale watching industry for over a decade, Kaegan still finds himself humbled by the wonders of the ocean and he is driven to educate the public about the creatures that inhabit the waters of the coast of British Columbia. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and experiences to help promote stewardship and conservation of this unique and fragile ecosystem.
