What a lovely way to start the week!! The skies were clear and the sun was bringing the heat to the capital region!

We spotted multiple humpbacks feeding in the morning, as well as several pods of Bigg's Killer Whales (mammal eaters) throughout the day. We were very lucky to encounter these mammal-eating orcas as they successfully hunted porpoises. 

Our captains also made a stop at Race Rocks Ecological Reserve, which is especially beautiful on a sunny day like today!  A couple of our vessels really lucked out when they stumbled on a grey whale, a rare sight here during this time of year. 

Captain Jim and Captain Kaegan came across some very curious Bigg's Killer Whales again in the afternoon, as well as some more humpback whales, sea lions, otters, and seals. 

After such an awesome day on the water, we're so excited to see what tomorrow brings!!

What a beautiful Saturday in the capital region!! Perfect whale watching conditions as our captains left the dock.

It wasn't long before reports came in of Biggs Orca (mammal eaters) heading into range! Our fleet headed northeast of Victoria near Vancouver in the morning. By the afternoon that pod was out of range but by then other pods moved into the area!

We had an exciting and rare sighting yesterday in the heart of Victoria! A pod of Biggs Orca came into the inner harbour of downtown Victoria!!! Not only do dock here, but many other businesses and private boats!! It is a busy and noisy place but they seemed comfortable as they came in to check things out! 

That said, our fleet got to encounter Biggs Orca all day! We love peak whale watching season because that means more interactions with these powerful predators. It is World Oceans Day today and we are excited to celebrate our oceans, and see who we encounter!!

What a perfect day for whale watching!!! The sun was shining and the water was flat calm as BC TIKA & ORCA headed off the dock. We had our first sunset trip yesterday, and whales all day long!!!

Reports of Biggs Orca (mammal eaters) came in early, so our fleet caught up with them as they headed west towards Victoria. They were identified as the T124A's, consisting of a matriarch and her five calves!! Our passengers got to encounter them all day long as they actively scanned and successfully foraged through the Salish Sea!

Its officially June, which means it's also peak whale watching season!! We are excited to see what kind of whale action will take place and who we will meet! Not only do we get the privilege of interacting with wildlife, but also the chance to meet humans (meat & vegetable eaters) from all over the globe!!

It was a cool drizzly day in the capital region, but lucky for us the whales don't care! We sent out BC TIKA and ORCA in the morning and it wasn't long before a pod of Biggs Orca (mammal eaters) were picked up near Vancouver. It was a long trip, but our captains went for it!! Good thing our vessels are fast, and we have the ability to extend our tour times!! When they got on scene the whales were in a playful mood, and were seen breaching and tail slapping! The pod was headed south, so our afternoon tour on BC LUNA caught up with them again in the afternoon. We love to see happy whales and passengers!!

Its the end of May already and we are so ready for peak season!!! 

Captain Russ and Gordon caught up with a pod of Biggs Orca (mammal eaters) hanging out in the Salish Sea yesterday!! They were first seen near the waterfront of Victoria early in the  morning, so we knew we would get to encounter them all day!!

There was clear sunny skies with the wind picking up throughout the day! Due to the winds we only sent out BC LUNA in the afternoon, she is perfect for keeping everyone dry in rough seas!

In the morning we caught up with a pod of Biggs Orca (mammal eaters) south of Victoria, they were travelling fast and out of range for our next tour. In the afternoon we caught up with humpback whales north east of Victoria were the water was calm!

It's already the middle of May, with only two more weeks until peak whale watching season! It was a sunny Tuesday in greater Victoria, with winds that picked up into the afternoon.

Unfortunately no whales were seen on our morning tour, but by afternoon a pod of Biggs Orca moved into range! BC TIKA handles best on choppy waters so she was perfect for the afternoon tour. The orca were encountered travelling away from Puget Sound and moving fast!
