Sightings Report for August 18th 2017

Another windy day in the Victoria area made the waters choppy, but nothing our captains could not handle! There were reports of Orca even before we left the dock!

Biggs Orca (mammal eaters) are taking over this summer, they have been frequenting the Salish Sea more than usual this season because of the increased population of their favourite prey item; seals! Several pods were encountered near the San Juan Islands heading North, while scanning the channels and bays for seals and other marine mammals to snack on.

Several humpback whale were encountered at Race Rocks feeding and relaxing, they have been very friendly and a big hit with the passengers!

Stay tuned!
