Sightings Report for July 26th 2017

Today was another gorgeous day in Greater Victoria!

In the morning we came across Bigg's Orcas as well as humpback whales! We were excited to witness the humpbacks so active and even saw one doing a cartwheel - so playful! They must be enjoying feeding on krill and zooplankton in our waters right now!!

We had the opportunity to see humpback whales again in the afternoon, as well as our Southern Resident killer whales! The Southern Residents are endangered because their primary food source, Chinook Salmon, are scarce. We were excited to see this pod, as they don't often frequent the area! We hope they are finding the food they need here!

Stay tuned for what's next!
