Sightings Report for August 26th 2017

A beautiful start to the weekend, the winds have calmed down throughout the week and the sun is still shining!

Our morning tours got to encounter several humpbacks foraging in the Juan De Fuca Strait! A stop at Race Rocks Ecological Reserve is always a hit with the guests, with a high concentration of marine mammals including: seals, sea lions, and even a sea otter!

By the afternoon there were reports of Biggs orca (mammal eaters) coming into the Strait from the open Pacific! They were identified as the T60's consisting of five individuals, a mother and her four growing calves with the oldest estimated to be 16 years old!

Stay tuned for what we encounter next!
