Sightings Report for August 13th 2017

What a windy day in the Victoria area! Our captains left the dock expecting rough seas and ready for the adventure! There was reports of Biggs Orca heading inbound from the open Pacific before we left the dock so it made the rough ride worth it!

In the afternoon the whales had already made it to the waterfront near the inner harbour, making it easier for our fleet to reach them. They were on the move as they came in to search the Salish sea for marine mammals to snack on.

Humpback whales were also encountered feeding and relaxing in the Strait. One individual was particularly energetic, as it was seen "cartwheeling" by putting its peduncle and fluke into the air!

Stay tuned for what we encounter next!!
