Sightings Report for July 9, 2017!!

Happy Sunday! A Great day to be on the water, with rumors of orca sightings before our fleet even left the dock! Captain Gordon, Russ, and Tom were eager to head out and begin the adventure ahead.

There were several Biggs orca (mammal hunters) reported in the area by a local fisherman earlier in the morning.  We began our search and before long we encountered T37a's and a lone male T51 traveling and hunting around the Gulf Islands.

The afternoon trips had to cover a long distance to catch up with the same group of Bigg's orca, as they continued to head north through Active Pass and into Georgia Strait.

The sunset cruise was going to be quite an adventure as the orca we encountered all day was now very far north of Victoria.  Russ was pumped and ready to get it done.  He was piloting BC ORCA, which is without a doubt the fastest vessel in our fleet.  He used that speed to get our sunset cruise guests to the Bigg's orca with ease.

Stay tuned for what we encounter today in the Pacific Northwest!
