Sightings Report for September 30th 2017

Its the last day of September with overcast, periods of sun and mild winds; still good whale watching conditions and lots of whales!

Today our captains caught up with different species of cetaceans in the local waters, including orcas and humpbacks! Several groups of orca were picked up heading into the Salish Sea from the open Pacific, moving right past the large volume of humpback whales feeding near the mouth of the Juna De Fuca Strait.

A visit to Race Rocks Ecological Reserve is always a hit with the guests! It is a hot spot for seals and sea lions, they are often seen lounging on the rocks relaxing and barking at one another.

Stay tuned for whats next!
